Robert H. Finney
Robert H. Finney is the co-founder and the President of Commerce Capital Partners, LLC.
Mr. Finney has over fifteen years of legal and real estate experience. He was most recently a partner in the law firm of Loeffler Tuggey Pauerstein Rosenthal LLP. Mr. Finney has been engaged in the practice of law since 1993. Mr. Finney’s private law firm experience included subcontracting relationships, joint venture agreements, and employment and independent consultant contracts. He also counseled clients on non-compete and nondisclosure agreements, small business preferences and procurement procedures.
Mr. Finney also managed his firm’s representation of certain private multifamily investment companies and was engaged in all manner of legal issues arising from the operations of multifamily housing from lease enforcement and eviction to insurance defense of property damage and bodily injury. As well, Mr. Finney was involved in representing multifamily investment companies as local counsel in acquisitions and dispositions of holdings in Texas.
Mr. Finney’s experience in real estate also includes spearheading government approval of very large projects such as the redevelopment of Brooke Army Medical Center from medical to administrative and office use. This project required more than $60 million in financing for rehabilitation, preservation, and environmental restoration and will earn value in the form of cash and/or in-kind services up to $250 million over the next 50 years.
As an active contributor to civic and professional groups, Mr. Finney lends his time to a variety of organizations in South Texas. He is a former director of The Texas Lyceum, the state’s premier leadership organization comprised of a select group of ninety-six young leaders from across Texas whose alumni include such notable Texans as former President George W. Bush, former Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, and Texas Governor Rick Perry. Mr. Finney also serves as Secretary for the Maverick PAC of Texas. The only group of its kind in the country, MavPac is a political action committee comprised of next-generation Texas leaders generally under the age of 45.
Mr. Finney, age 41, received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Baylor University in Texas and his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School.
